![]() Former and son plot to kill mother.they bury her in a well on the property.she comes back and torments them in different ways(mainly rats and her mutilated state) then worse things happen. also makes no sense to me why supernatural forces who are just butt hurt can haunt a new family in the first 's not yours anymore, get the fuck over it.suicide, family murder, drinking the poison, accidental death.just spit balling but your spirit has no right to linger and torment folks who have no relation to you or being the cause of your untimely death. Where are the horror, supernatural, scary movies that actually have a plot that makes sense? I'm talking about history, back stories, not a stupid movie where a "murder suicide" took place and then the new folks who have NO TIES to any of it, get tormented.dumb. So yes, on many levels its a BS plot, trying to make the person who is watching to figure out whats going on with pointless twists and turns mixed with some drama. EVEN THOUGH the movie clearly states all he did was fund it, not design it. So what I assume is a switch went off, elevator didn't go to the top anymore, and just went insane to stay in that house. Bottom line.he survived, and had full access to the house controls.the dumb ass could have left anytime. And yet the plot is suppose to be about love, and how a dude went insane and just DECIDED to stay in the house. It's piggy backing off "the boy" a dude who is butt hurt about the past, physically haunting the new owners who have nothing, no family ties, no reason to torment. So ya, decent premise, gave me the creeps at times (I'm a bitch with horrors), but it just wasn't well thought through.ĭefinitely not alone. When he was stalking the sister, one second he was shaking the door handle, the next he was behind her in the walk-in wardrobe.Īlso, he somehow managed to chase the main one around the house and not gt caught on camera, and also moved an entire bookcase in front of her bedroom door without dragging it there? The dude didn't exactly have a gym under the house to give him that strength.Īnd where was he when he moved the tennis ball? Pretty sure the camera angle of your one getting the brush to pull it out wouldn't have allowed him to hide anywhere, move the ball, then hide again within 5 seconds. The dude managed to get from one area of the house inside the walls to others far too quickly. I honestly think I say my SO's name once a day, but the actors wold say their SO's name in every sentence, so annoying.īut I also felt like there were some plot holes. So why are these two beautiful, young White people living in a huge and expensive house, only to then buy a different, larger, and even more beautiful house? Sure, maybe one of them has a trust fund or an inheritance, but nothing is mentioned.I also ejoyed it but thought it could have been much better. Meanwhile, Natalie doesn't have a job and hopes that a big deal might catapult her fashion business into something viable and profitable. Kevin works cleaning up murder scenes (just a coincidence) and Natalie wants him to go back to college. Secondly, the entire premise that Natalie and Kevin are suffering financially is curious. It's hard not to think this would be a better film if it had taken the other path, so to speak. For one, while there have been terrifying news stories similar to what happens, the way this film delivers its reveal ultimately feels hollow because so much time is spent on delivering supernatural thrills. Despite Aftermath (2021) being loosely based on a true story, the film nevertheless comes across as wildly unbelievable because of a few glaring issues. This horror movie comes close to being decent, but sadly is too long, too unsurprising, and too unrealistic.
